October 15, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm MDT

Canada’s changing cannabis laws, along with existing legislation for medical use, make for a complicated landscape in the employment context. This course is designed to support employers with developing a comprehensive drug & alcohol policy (not just a cannabis policy). This course will take a deep dive into cannabis outlining employer/employee obligations, the duty to accommodate, and safety sensitive positions.

This seminar will explore the following:

  •  Best Practice-what needs to be included in a policy
  • Identify gaps in your current policy
  • Guidelines for accommodating medical cannabis in the workplace
  • Identify steps to roll out new policy
