Alberta Prompt Payment Legislation – Insider Update

The Alberta Government passed Bill 37, Prompt Payment and Construction Lien Act on November 26, 2020. Throughout the next few months, MCA Alberta is actively involved in providing input to Regulatory development for the Act as government targets July 01, 2021 to fully implement the new legislation. On January 21, 2021 plan to attend the MCA member meeting for an update from Tim Padfield, MCA’s representative to prompt payment regulatory development. There will be opportunity for questions and to provide input on the priorities MCA needs to push for in the new regulations.
