Why employers switch
Changing benefits can feel risky. Employees are used to their current coverage, administrators worry about disruption, and owners need to know the numbers make sense.
MCA Alberta helps reduce that friction by starting with the plan you already have and guiding you toward a comparable or better-fit option.
Preserve familiar coverage where possible instead of forcing unnecessary change.
Access coverage through a member-sponsored program designed for contractors.
Choose from traditional plans, hour-bank coverage, and individual pathways.
Get help with enrolments, changes, premiums, claims coordination, and plan questions.
A simpler way to compare
You do not need to decode every plan on your own. Start with what you already have.

Select the structure and coverage level that makes sense for your company.
Start with the workforce structure that best describes your company.
Traditional Group Benefits
For companies with employees working regular weekly hours who want conventional health, dental, life, and disability coverage.
Flexible Workforce
For seasonal, occasional, project-based, or variable-hour workforces where employees build benefit eligibility through accumulated hours.
Individual Coverage
For individuals or small groups that need an individual-style pathway rather than a traditional employer-sponsored plan.
Two familiar plan structures with different coverage levels and maximums.
Designed for companies wanting broader reimbursement levels, higher maximums, and stronger disability protection.
Best for: Employers prioritizing comprehensive coverage.
Designed for companies seeking essential group coverage with a more cost-conscious structure.
Best for: Employers balancing core protection with affordability.

Flexible workforce coverage
The Hour Bank program is built for workforces where employees may be seasonal, occasional, on layoff, or not consistently working full-time hours. Employees accumulate hours with one employer and use those hours to maintain benefit eligibility.
Benefits start after the employee reaches the required initial hours. Extra hours can remain in the bank to help preserve coverage when work slows down.
1. Employees work
Submitted hours are added to their bank.
2. Hours accumulate
Eligibility begins once the starting threshold is reached.
3. Coverage continues
Monthly hours maintain benefit eligibility.
4. Extra hours carry forward
Banked hours help during slower periods.
